Privacy Policy

1. Short version

CounterHype is a home strength, nutrition, and progress app. We use personal data to run the app, build your plan, track your logs, sync and restore your data, provide subscriptions, improve reliability, and answer support requests. We do not sell your personal data or use your health, fitness, or nutrition data for advertising.

2. Information we collect

• Account data, such as your email address, sign-in provider, display name, profile photo, account identifiers, and authentication status.
• Onboarding and profile data, such as your goal, schedule, training experience, available equipment, body metrics, food target settings, pain or limitation notes you choose to enter, and plan preferences.
• Workout data, such as generated plans, workout days, exercises, sets, reps, effort, completion history, active workout drafts, and exercise-library usage.
• Nutrition data, such as food logs, meals, calories, macros, barcode lookups, label scans, custom foods, and food submissions you choose to send for review.
• Progress and health-related data, such as weight entries, measurements, steps, daily check-ins, recovery signals, hunger, energy, and other health or fitness information you choose to enter or connect.
• Subscription data, such as entitlement status, purchase or restore state, store product identifiers, renewal status, and subscription management links. CounterHype does not receive your full payment card details.
• Device, diagnostics, and analytics data, such as app version, platform, device type, crash reports, performance data, feature events, and basic log data.
• Support data, such as messages you send, attached screenshots, contact details, and information needed to investigate an issue.

3. Health, fitness, and nutrition data

CounterHype may process sensitive health, fitness, nutrition, and body-related data when you choose to provide it. Connected health features, such as Health Connect or similar platform health services, only run after you grant permission through your device. You can revoke those permissions in your device settings.

We use this data to provide user-facing features such as training plans, nutrition targets, workout progression, recovery context, progress views, cloud backup, and restore. We do not sell this data, share it with data brokers, or use it for third-party advertising. See the Health Data Notice for more detail.

4. AI-assisted food features

If you use AI-assisted features, such as describing a meal or scanning a nutrition label, CounterHype may send the text or image you provide to an AI service provider so the app can return a structured estimate. AI food estimates can be wrong. They are a convenience feature, not medical or dietary advice.

5. How we use information

• To create, update, and personalize training and nutrition plans.
• To save workout, food, body, progress, and check-in data.
• To provide cloud sync, backup, restore, and JSON export features.
• To process subscriptions, restores, account access, and entitlement checks.
• To provide support, investigate bugs, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
• To meet legal, tax, accounting, security, and app-store obligations.

6. How we share information

We share information only as needed to provide and protect the service. This may include service providers for hosting, authentication, databases, cloud storage, analytics, crash reporting, subscriptions, payment platforms, AI processing, customer support, and moderation.

CounterHype may also disclose information if required by law, to protect users or the service, to prevent fraud or abuse, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. If that happens, this Privacy Policy will continue to apply unless users are told otherwise.

7. Your choices and rights

• You can edit many profile, training, and nutrition settings in the app.
• You can export data through the app where export is available.
• You can revoke connected health permissions through your device settings.
• You can restore purchases or manage subscriptions through the app store account used for purchase.
• You can request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your data by contacting support.

8. Data retention and deletion

Local data may remain on your device until you delete it, reset the app, or uninstall the app. Cloud data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period after that so we can provide restore, support, security, accounting, and legal functions. You can request account deletion at Delete Account.

9. Security

CounterHype uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal data. No system is perfect. If you believe your account or data has been compromised, contact us promptly.

10. Children

CounterHype is not intended for children. Do not use CounterHype if you are under 16 unless your parent or guardian has reviewed the app and applicable terms for you.

11. International transfers

CounterHype and its providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, legal requirements, or service providers change. The updated date at the top shows when the policy last changed.
